Hantuchova - Groenefeld hc+1,5 sets Groenefeld (@1,55 Bet-at-home)
I don´t aggree here. Anna-Lena is on a 13-0 run (26-0 in sets) in past weeks.
Winning one challenger on clay in Italy and another challenger in Bronx (USA).
In the Qualifing round
Anna-Lena Groenefeld Stephanie Foretz 6-2 6-4
Anna-Lena Groenefeld Regina Kulikova 6-4 6-2
Anna-Lena Groenefeld Kathrin Woerle 6-3 6-3
On the other hand Hantuchova has shown weakness in the past weeks.
So i don´t see a clear win here.
Be careful. |

| Tsonga is 240 on Betfair. I dont think he will win this but could easily progress to later stages. Ive gone for this with a view to trading. Some of the prices are really good value at the moment and will plummet after R1. |

Wozniak is overpriced @ 3.50 to beat Davenport tomorrow. More info on my blog, but Davenport is just coming back from injury and illness, will be rusty, Wozniak can take her if she plays well. _________________ The only dedicated snooker betting blog on OLBG! -> Click here

(26/08 10:00) Maria J M Sanchez vs Sabine Lisicki : Sabine Lisicki Win @ 1.90
Sabine Lisicki is young german star. She 18 years old. (Martinez Maria Jose 26 years old).
In this year Sabine already beat some strong players as Chakvetadze Anna and Safina Dinara. She usually play on good level on hard and not lose to low-ranked players. Last defeats was vs Kirilenko Maria in3sets, to Peer Shahar, Elena Dementieva, Sugiyama Ai, Arn Greta in 3sets, Mauresmo Amelie. All this opponents was very strong and Sabine still play good vs them. She has play good on AusOpen08 there won 5 matches include qualification and lost to Wozniacki Caroline in 3sets.
Martinez Maria Jose play much better on hard. Usually win or lose to low-ranked not top100 players. She win vs Sabine Lisicki year ago in Madrid(IX) final in 3sets match. But then Sabine was just 17 years old. Now she play adult class tennis.
Sabine Lisicki have big advantage by better hard season, her age and form in this match. Must be favorite there. Good value for her! |

| At the moment Nadal is almost unbeatable. But that is almost! Its a tricky one and I wouldn't really want to bet against him but he has played a lot of tennis this season and has struggled here in the past. I think Nadal is good value as a Lay bet. |
I'm not a massive tennis fan but I agree that Nadal must be a decent Lay bet @ 2.46. He has improved this season on the hardcourts but he's only reached the QF's once in his US Open career and out of his 8 defeats this season 7 have come on the hard courts.
He has played an awful lot on tennis in the last 6 months including winning the Olympics last week and surely it's going to start to take it's toil soon. |

Hi guys,
the following bet for Olympics:
WTA TOUR, US OPEN
CHAN TO D KUDRYAVTSEVA @ 2.6 at Betfair
I see no reason to why Kudryavsteva is a favorite in this one as Chan is
very consistent and smart player and the H2H is 2:0 to Chan.
ATP TOUR, US OPEN
HANESCU TO D MONTANES @ 1.43 at Pinnacle
After some injures in 2007, Hanescu is having a good 2008 season on all
surfaces while Montanes is still a clay court specialist.
ATP TOUR, US OPEN
STEPANEK TO D STARACE @ 1.3 at Pinnacle
Starace is just a typical clay court player and I can’t see him equaling
Stepanek’s attacking fast game.

Outside bet for me has to be Ernests Gulbis. The only man apart from Federer to take a set off Nadal at Wimbledon this year, the Latvian has improved 40 places in the ATP rankings since the end of May and will soon be ready to join the elite in the mens ranks.
He has a tricky half of the draw with Andy Roddick a potential 2nd round opponent, but Roddick is out of form and if he survives that there's not much to trouble the Latvian too much until a possible quarter final against Djokovic who he made work hard for three tough sets at Roland Garros this year.
230-1 is very generous indeed when you look at James Blake at around a best price of 125-1, a player Gulbis has already beaten twice this year, and the price should hopefully mean a half decent trade at worst. |

Well after seeing Nadal's unconvincing 7-6 6-3 7-6 win over Bjorn Phau I'm quite happy to Lay him at 2.52 for the tournament. Phau is ranked 136 in the world and by all accounts Nadal should be dispatching oppenents like this in an hour and a half rather than nearly three hours.
Its not as if Phau played out of his skin either - certainly he was very determined and played well, but he only got 49% of his first serves in and Nadal could only break the German twice in the whole match, and had his serve broken once himself (double faulting to lose the game as he served for the match). But the most worrying stat must be the 35 unforced errors by Nadal.
If the Spaniard continues like this then a potential match against Philip Kohlschreiber in the 3rd round will be a seriously tough test for Nadal. |

I think that Nadal has played too much tennis recently, although give Phaul credit for never giving up. There were some truly great rallies in their match.
Good to see Anne Keothavong win her 1st round match. I think that Sam Smith was the last British female to win a match outside of Wimbledon, that must be nearly 10 years ago now.
Anna Chakvetadze became the first big casualty of the tournament. I was able to get odds of 11/4 on her opponent Makarova after she had won the 2nd set to equal the match
Anyone else got an opinion of the Women's tournament? |

If you know me by now, there's one real stand out pick for me today, and that is Jan Minar to beat Karlovic @ 7.2. I have always said, and I still hold to this, that betting on a Karlovic match is as close to betting on red or black as you could probably get in all honesty, and as the years pass, the ability and stamina of Karlovic will surely decline.
The Croat is now 29 years old, and I think he is now starting to experience the decline in his stamina, most athletes tend to peak around 25-26, stay at the height of their career for a couple of years and then drift. Although Karlovic is now at a career high 14th in the ATP Rankings, I think that he is still in decline, with most big servers, muscle pain sometimes comes into the equation over long matches, which is one of the reasons why he has had a pretty poor record in the last couple of years at Grand Slam events.
Jan Minar isn't exactly the most well known player on the ATP circuit, a carear high on 177 just goes to show that, but he could still be a threat to Karlovic, even though he is relatively unknown, must in the same way Stadler was at Wimbledon, and with this in mind the 7.2 on offer looks to be great value...
