agree inatimate. karlovic lost to the world no 400 odd last week and has a shocking record at grand slams. amazingly he's at a career-high ranking right now!
1.17 a small Lay for me, but the 1.9 for set betting seems a much better Lay IMO, considering there will surely be at least 2 TB's in the match, which are at best 60/40 in Ivo's favour. _________________ www.priceform.com

over 5sets he struggles to keep his serve going, minar is not the worst player in this tourenmnet id probably Lay the 3-0 karlovic result. _________________ check me out on blogs page |

Dinara Safina is going to have to improve her serve if she wants to win the tounament. She served 10 double faults in her first round match, and would not have scraped through against a top ten player.
Ana Ivanovic seemed to be coasting against Vera Dushevina winning 8 of her first 9 game. But then the wheels came off and she was lucky to scrape through with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 victory.
I didn't get to see Agnieszka Radwanska's match, but there were almost more breaks of service than holds. I like Radwanska, she reads the game well and I think she would be a good outside bet for Wimbledon next year. Not sure how well she performs on the hard courts though.
Biggest shock was Daniela Hantuchova losing 6-4, 6-2 to a player ranked outside the top 100!
I had a bet on Dominika Cibulkova to beat Jill Craybas as soon as I saw the draw. Price then was 2/9, but is now closer to 1/7. The bookies have obviously wised up! |

Yes, Hantuchova do disappointing perfomance. Strange, i though her health was not bad by last matches .
Two safe bets that i see in next round:
(27/08 10:00) Eduardo Schwank vs Dmitry Tursunov : Dmitry Tursunov Win @ 1.28
Dmitry Tursunov has good hard season, beat many strong players from top10 as Gasquet and Blake in this year, won title in Sydney. Dmitry have very strong attack style, and his matches results pretty consistant. In this season he lost only to top10 players or to players who have very hot form
Schwank Eduardo in general play small challenger series tourneys, dont has big success in this year and poor results if we compare him to Tursunov. No chances for him win over Tursunov.
(27/08 10:00) Roko Karanusic vs Kei Nishikori : Kei Nishikori Win @ 1.4
Karanusic have physical problems with back. His only perfomance on outdoor hard in this season was on AusOpen. And he not have good results in this season, exclude not major indoor title at start of year in Belgrade.
Kei Nishikori looks tired at the end match vs Monaco yesterday, but still show very strong and creative tennis. His level much better than Karanusic. And he train with Tommy Haas at Nick
Bollittieri academy on outdoors hardcourts before this USOpen. Its must be was very good practice for him, he got more stability in his tennis. US Crowd support Kei on matches, because he american school tennis product. Kei must win this match. |

Apologies for the delay but my internet's been messing about for the last couple of days... my pick for a dark-horse tournament winner is... Andy Murray.
Obviously difficult to see past Nadal, Federer and Djokovic. Outside of that I think Murray will be the other semi-finalist. Disregarding them four, a few more to consider may be James Blake, David Ferrer, Andy Roddick and Nikolay Davydenko.
Good luck to all! I shall be posting a few more views over the next couple of weeks... _________________ Non-League Football Guru!!! |

| I think Murray has potential to win a slam and I think this or the Aussie one is his best chance. I do think he is an under performer though and will be unpatriotic in his next match as I am backing Llodra. I think he represents good value at around 8. |

WOW, Anne Keothavong has beaten Francesca Schiavone in 3 set's and will now face Elena Dementieva in the 3rd round.
Don't want to seem unpatriotic, but I wouldn't book that hotel room beyond Friday Anne!
Upset of the day was Number 9 seed Vera Zvonareva losing to 76th ranked Tatiana Perebiynis in straight set's. Perebiynis is a former Junior and Mixed Doubles finalist at Wimbledon, but has not been beyond the 3rd round at the U.S Open before.
Elsewhere, Jelena Jankovic struggled to a 3 set victory against Sofia Arvidsson as only she knows how. Afterwards, Jankovic had to halt her post-match warm-down "I couldn't go any more," said Jankovic. "My leg was straight and I couldn't bend it. The muscle was in spasm and I had a lot of pain.". Words which will surely encourage her next opponent Jie Zheng. |

I shall be having a small flutter on Jie Zheng to beat Jelena Jankovic tomorrow.
see my posting on 27th August for reasons.
Zheng has also progressed in the doubles, teaming up with Zi Yan to beat Ursula and Agnieszka Radwanska. Of course, doubles is a different game from singles, but it is still a good scalp to beat a player ranked 11 as a singles player no matter what type of tennis you are playing.
This should give Zheng further confidence and I predict her to beat Jankovic 2 sets to 1.
In my first posting, I advised would be punters not to put money on Ana Ivanovic to win the tournament. Not in my wildest dreams did I envisage her losing to qualifier Julie Coin though.

Best value of the day I can see is Dmitry Tursunov to bt Victor Hanescu at 1.33. _________________ Non-League Football Guru!!! |
